Did McCain Really Win The Pennsylvania Primary?

john, mccain, pennsylvania, sad, beat, lost, huckabee, paul, republican, primary, resultsBy all normal measures John McCain won the PA primary last Tuesday with a rather descent margin – receiving 73% of votes cast.  However, there were some very troubling signs coming out of that primary.

First, Ron Paul took a hefty 16 percent of votes cast and Mike Hucakabee took 11 percent.  Now, Huckabee has officially dropped out of the race (or at least changed his bid to VP as an alternative).  Paul will take his fanatical supporters to the convention in the same city Larry Craig likes to “change planes” in.

So, here is the the first of two reasons McCain really lost Pennsylvania.  27% of those voting in the Republican Party Primary didn’t vote for the person already officially recognized by the Republican Party as the presumptive nominee.  That should cause Senator McMoreOfTheBushSame to pause considerably.

Secondly is the vast difference in turn out between the Democratic Party and  The Republican party was shocking.  2.2 million Democratic Voters showed up to vote on Tuesday while only 800 thousand Republican voters bothered to turn out.  Some of that can, of course, be attributed to the fact that the Republican side has already named their nominee.  But, seriously 2.75 more Democrats voted in the primary than Republicans.

Even if you can believe those exit polls that said a ridiculous number of both Clinton and Obama supporters would not vote for the other Democratic candidate in the fall, McCain still lost.

Despite the McCain-Bush Iraq war, the Republican Party looks as if it will be stupid enough to nominate McMoreofTheBushSame.  A very good sign for whomever the Democratic Convention sends forth in Denver.

2000 Again, McCain Still Doomed

McCain won NH in 2000 and it didn’t do him a bit of good in the long run.

Huckabee will win in SC and then Rudy will clean sweep the Feb 5 States.

This is just a flash in the pan.

Didn’t Even beat Fred Thompson?

Now that is very sad.  John McCain in Iowas failed to even out pace Fred Thompson.

Romney would make a much better choice for the Republicans than does McCain just based on that fact.

John = George

The problem John McCain is facing in the Republican primary is that Republican voters are tired of the McCain Bush Iraq War™ and therefore tired of John McCain. Normally a President has to work rather hard at becoming a lame duck, but McCain has managed to do so without even getting elected.

The 2000 Florida election theft taught Democratic voters an important lesson regarding falling in line and voting the party line. Democratic voters are therefore far less likely to play around with fringe candidates and more likely to vote for the person they believe has the best chance in the General.

McCain, however, hasn’t caught on to that theory and is running for GWB’s third term and the electorate isn’t amused.

Hillary’s wet dream come true is that either McCain or Giulani get’s the nomination. Giulani because the Republicans are threatening to run a third party “real conservative” not against Hillary but against the Republican candidate and McCain because the voters aren’t really interested in re-electing GWB.

McCain has placed all his eggs in one basket an that basket is labeled “Things Will get Better in the McCain Bush Iraq War™ Then Everyone will Love Me Again”. Well the Middle East has been screwed up for 1500 years or more and it is extremely doubtful that things will improve in the next 2 months. Subtract the time people will be spending for Thanksgiving and Christmas from the election calendar, and it’s really more as if the election were in six weeks.

The only good news for McCain in all of this? After six weeks he can stop pretending he’s going to be the 43rd President of the United States.

Pay But No Play?

John McCain For PresidentWhy did John McCain buy “MittVsFact.com” and then not use it?  How come the change of heart?  His campaign openly admitted to purchasing the domain name.  His campaign manager said they were going to start the website and then for several months, nothing.

But, after this weekend’s bombardment of attacks against Romney for his changing positions on abortion, gun control and Saint Ronald Regan, has McCain at last grown a pair big enough to allow him to use the domain he registered?

Let’s hope so, because if there is anything presidential politics is in need of it’s more attack ads and negative campaigning and John McCain is just the candidate to bring it to us.

Whack A Mole!

John McCain To Drop Out Soon!Watching John McCain on Face the Nation was like playing that game at the carnival where you try to whack as many of the moles that pop their heads up to win a rather cheesy prize.

First McCain admits to having recently changed his approach to campaigning then he’s the same old John we’ve grown to know and love.

First Senator McCain presents himself as the maverick then, instantly he wants us to believe that he is the solid, reliable conservative candidate who has never changed his positions on any issues.  Then, in the blink of an eye Mr. McCain wants you to believe all the other conservatives running are, well, they are, not “real”

Why is Romney or Giuliani any less a conservative than McCain?  Does the big tent of the Republican party have no room for even the smallest hint of disagreement with the lunatic far right?

McCain Waiting to Drop Out For Federal Matching Funds to Kick In

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  John McCain knows he has no chance of winning neither the nomination nor the general election and the only reason he is staying in the race is to qualify for federal matching funds which he can then use to pay off his campaign’s outstanding bills.

So, let’s all understand this.  McCain is claiming to be all so very very against pork barrel wasteful government spending; but, is waiting for December to spend your tax dollars to pay the fuel bill on the Straight Talk Express.

Testicular Cancer

John McCain may not care if you die of cancer; but you might just care.

So, in honor of Lance Armstrong, here is a doctor showing you how to exam yourself for testicular cancer.
